“Now we should live when the pulse of life is strong.
Life is a tenuous thing…fragile, fleeting…
Don’t wait for tomorrow.
BE HERE NOW!”
These are the words Shawn read from the book “Captivating” to his wife Jennifer
on Saturday, September 3, 2005 while they stopped for coffee after a morning bike
ride. Three days later, as Officer Silvera responded to a call while on duty, he
was struck by a fleeing suspect and killed.
Shawn was
charitable, living his short life of 32 years in
service to others with
integrity,
devotion,
character,
compassion and
strength.
He embodied the powerful message carried by the three simple words
“BE HERE NOW”
- savoring daily moments, relishing opportunities to learn and appreciating his
gift to help someone in need.
In celebration of Shawn’s life, and in honor of his sacrifice, we urge you
to live the importance of today.
BE HERE NOW!
